Podcast Aggregators
« on: September 04, 2010, 06:00:47 PM »

I've grown increasingly sick of iTunes and it messing with my tags for my music, and I'm on the lookout for a good replacement for a podcast aggregator, and preferably one that syncs with iPods (though it doesn't have to). I know there are a few good ones out there, but I'm looking for opinions and suggestions.

If you're on Linux, you could use RythmBox

I tried several popular iTunes alternatives a while back, but as far as I could figure out none of them supported automatic downloading and syncing of podcasts.

Doubletwist is worth a look as an aggregator, but I don't know if it supports iPods yet.

Nope, no Linux. :-\ Thanks for the suggestion, though.

iTunes alternatives

I'll take a look at Sharepod, however I didn't see an aggregator in the feature list. I'm primarily looking for an aggregator and less for a syncing tool, as foobar's plugin for that is serviceable for that.

Doubletwist

No support for iPod, but the aggregator part is just fine. If I had an Android phone I'd use this. At least it most likely won't delete my metadata for every song in the library for no reason.

e: Well hey, it seems Doubletwist does support Apple products.
