Mod/Indie of the Year 2015
« on: December 01, 2015, 05:25:58 AM »

As always the guys over at MoDB/IndieDB are having a contest for the best stuff coming out in the given year.

I would urge everyone to go and vote for their favorite things. Here's a few things I'd recommend checking out:

Squad - http://www.moddb.com/games/squad (For those who want slower paced, more tactical shooting from 8v8 all the way to 50v50)
Brutal DooM - http://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom (v20 came out this year so I guess it counts)
UFO: Alien Invasion - http://www.moddb.com/games/ufo-alien-invasion (Not a part of the Afterblank series)
Nightmare House 2 - http://www.moddb.com/mods/nightmare-house-2 (Because all Half Life singleplayer mods are horror. Of course)
PR:BF 2 - http://www.moddb.com/mods/project-reality (Went standalone this year)

Check out:

http://www.moddb.com/groups/2015-mod-of-the-year-awards/features/editors-choice-mod-of-the-year-2015

So much upcoming stuff!

Things like a remake of Warcraft 3 in Starcraft 2 (Dec 30 release date) http://www.moddb.com/mods/waa-mod
Or Squad, my go to not ArmA 3 tactical FPS: http://www.indiedb.com/games/squad

Also while at it: 2015s Cacoawards have been given out. My picks would be: Breach, a great action map and Dead.Wire, an amazing creepy map for DooM 2. I would also like to bump Brutal DooM v2 (here) and Project Brutality (here). PB takes BD to twelve with hundreds of new animations, new weapons, monsters, abilties. Brutal Dooms so called starter pack is also nearing release. The starter pack will be a stand alone mapset with a whole lot of new features. Case in point: drive a tank and an attack chopper (rotor blades  cut demons up, yesssss).
