The Hobbit
« on: May 09, 2010, 06:43:10 AM »

For real this time, The Hobbit is set to hit the big screen. The Story is going to be split in two parts, released December 2012 and December 2013 respectively. Guillermo del Toro is serving as director and Peter Jackson is returning to the franchise as executive producer and co-writer. Sir Ian Mckellen is returning with his role of Gandalf, Andy Serkis as Gollum and also Hugo Weaving as Elrond. The scripts have been finished but we are still waiting on the casting of Bilbo Baggins. Budget for the films is said to be even more than LOTR. As a lover of the LOTR films and also The Hobbit novel, it will be very interesting to see how this one turns out, I have high hopes.

I'll expect to see lots of kids with rings around their necks again then?

I look forward to it aswell, I might try and read the books beforehand.

Yeah The Hobbit is definitely worth a read. Better than LOTR I would say.
