Title: cosplay help
Post by: Agriassw on October 02, 2016, 01:09:08 PM
Hey everyone in my last email I requested tips for cosplay I plan to do next year. I made this post as an area for anyone who is experienced in cosplay to point me in the right direction. I have seen many different places that you can order a costume but with soo many out there I don't know where to go. So if anyone can share with me a site you had great experience with or tell me a site to avoid that would be great. My goal is to have everything set by May of 2017 in time for AX 2017 in July. I want to attend this con with my Girlfriend Ambrosia and for us to go as Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye from FullMetal Alchemist. Again any help is appreciated, Thanks again VTW peeps.

Possible sites to start with:
http://www.cosplaymagic.com/ (http://www.cosplaymagic.com/)
http://www.ezcosplay.com/ (http://www.ezcosplay.com/)
http://www.coscraze.com/ (http://www.coscraze.com/)

I've used ezcosplay before and I think cosplaymagic, but not coscraze. I think you can start with a purchased costume and then modify it as needed to match what you want. As you get more comfortable with modifications, you may want to start designing and making your own. That can wait though. Just get a costume and have fun. None of them will be truly complete. Most of the time you will still need to find a wig, shoes, and any accessories like weapons or other details.

I use https://arda-wigs.com/ (https://arda-wigs.com/) for all of my hair needs.

I know it's not much, but that's about all the help I can give, since I make my own costumes. (By the way, McCall's patterns are pretty great and easy to modify, until you get into really bizarre costuming and resort to making everything up as you go. https://mccallpattern.mccall.com/ (https://mccallpattern.mccall.com/)) :'D

The costume arrived a while back and Ambrosia looks amazing in it, I have provided a link to the review and pictures she made below:
